1. What’s your name and what do you play in The Resignators?

Chris Kwan - Sticks and skins

2. How long have you been with the band?

Over 12 months

3. How did you first get involved with The Resignators?

My friend Jayne knew I was looking for a band to play with and she stitched me up with these geezers… it’s worked out pretty good so far.

4. What was the first album you ever bought?

CD-Kill ‘em All Metallica

5. Who are your top three musical influences?

- Steve Adler from Guns n roses that’s how I learnt to play drums

- Drive Like Jehu - learnt how to play more than rock beats

- The Mars Volta, how I learned to love drums all over again.

6. What’s your favorite Resignators song to play live and why?

Parasol, it’s got great rhythm and groove.

7. If you could collaborate with any artist (living or dead), who would it be?

Rick Froberg (RIP)… so many great bands and I totally connected to his style.

ON TOUR

8. What’s the best gig you’ve ever played?

- First gig with The Resignators… 4 weeks to prepare and smashed it with one rehearsal.

9. Funniest or weirdest thing that’s happened on tour?

- I always seem to wake up next to singers girlfriends… and on the days that doesn’t happen, I’m next to the bass player, really strange but very consistent.

10. What’s your go-to snack or drink on the road?

- more of everything, doesn’t matter what.

11. Any pre-show rituals or superstitions?

Usually at sound check 20 mins before, do a sound check, and spend some time making sure I know the first and the last sound really well as that’s all people remember.

PERSONAL VIBES

12. When you’re not making music, what are you into?

- Music is my recreation and my escape from being Corporate Kwan (I love the work i do)

- Long walks in the beach with my dog

- Driving my v8 around a race track

- Car shows with my kids

- Watching my kids grow up to be beautiful well balanced young adults.

13. What's a fun fact about you that fans might not know?

- When is was in grade 5, I was on a children’s game show called “Double Dare”

14. If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing?

- Racing car driver

15. Describe your perfect day off.

- get up early, get my racing slicks on and head down to Phillip Island race track and spend the day tearing up the track in my car.

16. What’s one message you want to give to Resignators fans?

Music keeps you young and creates sub cultures of diversity, so support your local music scene.

17. What’s been the most memorable fan interaction you’ve had?

Meeting a fan after a gig recently and Being told that I’m a great bassist (Simon is more handsome that I)

18. Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?

Hell yeah!!!

19. Zombie apocalypse – who in the band survives the longest and why?

Me, the other guys just stand around while I’m cracking sweats playing drums… so I reckon I’d be the fittest.

20. If The Resignators had a theme song (other than your own), what would it be?

Theme song from the Leyland Brothers.. “ Travel all over the countryside.. ask the Leyland, ask the Leyland…”
