BAND BASICS

What’s your name and what do you play in The Resignators

Jeremy Meaden, I blow the trumpah.

How long have you been with the band?

Like, ages.

How did you first get involved with The Resignators?

I answered an anonymous ‘musicians wanted’ post for a ‘blowhard’.

MUSICAL INFLUENCES & FAVORITES
What was the first album you ever bought?

‘Sunshine On Leith’ by The Proclaimers. On cassette.

Who are your top three musical influences?

The Wiggles, Black Flag, and Verdi.

What’s your favorite Resignators song to play live and why?

‘I Farken Love You’. It’s a beautiful ode to living in outer suburban Melbourne.

If you could collaborate with any artist (living or dead), who would it be?

Fats Domino. I don’t know how much composing music we’d do though, I reckon we’d be too busy eating. By all accounts, he was the best cook in New Orleans. If you aren’t excited by the idea of unlimited southern American food and music, you’re dead inside.

ON TOUR
What’s the best gig you’ve ever played?

Don’t know if I could call it the best, but I guess playing the 100 Club in London was a bit of a milestone. Standing on the particular stage was pretty terrifying. It was probably much worse or the spectators, we had had a phot shoot earlier that day and had got started on the turps pretty early.

Funniest or weirdest thing that’s happened on tour?

Broken foot in Aalst was pretty bad? If you manage to break your foot on a 3 inch step you know that all that lovely trappist ale is definitely having an effect on you.

What’s your go-to snack or drink on the road?

I have weird dreams about those gas station strawberry jam and brie croissants in Canada. I didn’t have enough money to by real food, but these pretty well kept me alive for the last part of our 2013 North American tour.

 Any pre-show rituals or superstitions?

Nope. I’m always far too ready to go.

PERSONAL VIBES
When you’re not making music, what are you into?

I badly ride motorbikes in dangerous places I’m totally unprepared for. Good times.
What's a fun fact about you that fans might not know?

I am the second cousin twice removed of a person of interest.
If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing?

Saving any money ever.
Describe your perfect day off.

I have two kids, so If I had a day off I’d probably lie down for a while, maybe eat something nice, then I’d probably lie down again.

FAN CONNECTION
What’s one message you want to give to Resignators fans?

We appreciate you. Like, heaps.
What’s been the most memorable fan interaction you’ve had?

A girl told me once that she liked my man bun.

JUST FOR FUN
Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?

Yes. Don’t be a snob, it’s fine. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Zombie apocalypse who in the band survives the longest and why?

I think if you can stay ahead of Francis you’re probably pretty good. He’d keep the chasing zombies fed for long enough to make a good get away.
If The Resignators had a theme song (other than your own), what would it be?

Manamana by the Muppets. Ask either Steve, Francis or Stacy why. They’ll get it.
